FED collaborated with the Indian government's premier policy think-tank, NITI Aayog, to publish the report, 'Boosting Exports From MSMEs', to generate a much-needed surround sound and highlight the immense potential of Indian MSMEs, who should be selling a lot more in global markets but are constrained owing to several legacy issues.

The report jointly prepared by Niti Aayog and the non-profit Foundation for Economic Development, said that India needs a National Trade Network (NTN) to ease compliance burdens for MSMEs.

On why countries with low per-capita incomes, such as India, must focus on exports, Panagariya, in a conversation with Foundation for Economic Development, explained how the global export market was worth $32 trillion in 2022, almost ten times India's GDP.
